Stiglets Shines in Storybook Victory at Oaklawn

Oaklawn was the scene of what can only be described as a storybook rebirth for Stiglets’ career. After being claimed in his last race, the talented colt needed time to reset and retrain. Following a brief respite, Stiglets was primed for his Hollywood moment.

Adding to the drama, Robin of Rockin Robin Racing Stables and Eric Stiglets—whom the horse was named after—also descended on Oaklawn, creating a perfect storm of opportunity and excitement. Everyone knew Stiglets had the pedigree and the ability to win, but the question loomed: was this going to be his day?

The race unfolded in cinematic fashion. Stiglets broke sharply, quickly getting into the top three. By the first turn, he had worked his way into a fierce duel with the heavy favorite. The two matched strides, neither willing to yield an inch, turning the race into a battle of wills.

As they reached the stretch, a third contender loomed large and tried to make a late bid. But the pressure only fueled Stiglets' determination. Digging deep, he found another gear and surged forward, refusing to be caught. In the end, Stiglets crossed the wire in front—by a neck!

The winner’s circle was electric—buzzing with disbelief, joy, and raw emotion.

This is just the beginning. Look out, Churchill Downs—Stiglets is coming!

It was an amazing ride by Ramon Vazquez and an incredible job over the last weeks by Philip D'Amato's team to get him ready and in top shape!

If you haven’t met Robin Hoffos, it’s hard to truly understand the force of nature that is his personality and the love he radiates to everyone around him. Imagine Santa Claus in a 145-pound frame—a man who genuinely enjoys life, but even more so, loves making everyone else around him feel special.
